This tilt in space model from Esteem is a well equipped wheelchair with full tilt in space capability. Tilt is space is in some ways considered better than reclining as the whole body is tilted rather than simply reclining the back rest. Tilt in space is often more suitable for users who require pressure relief. The tilt range is 98° to 134°.

Made with a strong aluminium frame this wheelchair is suitable for users up to 150kgs or 23 stone in weight and can be folded and stored with relative ease. The back rest folds down and the head rest is removable to reduce the space required for storage.

A comfortable tilt in space transit wheelchair

The tilt in space transit model comes in a 16" or 18" seat width and is loaded with features that help to make the whole experience more comfortable. Starting at the top of the wheelchair there is a large height adjustable head rest that is padded and provides support for the head when the chair is tilted backwards.

The arm rests can be adjusted backwards and forwards and up and down to give maximum support and comfort. The leg rests swing in/out for transfers and are also height adjustable.

To the rear of the wheelchair there are height adjustable anti tip wheels that can be set to provide maximum stability. Stepper tubes are also in place to assist when mounting a curb or single step.

For the attendant there is a single brake lever that applies the brake to both rear wheels helping to slow and stop the wheelchair. The other hand lever is to action the tilt in space function which allows the chair to tilt within a given range. Once this lever is released, the seat angle remains fixed.
