Karma Ergo 3 transit wheelchair

The Karma Ergo 3 transit wheelchair is a high quality lightweight folding wheelchair that has been successfully crash tested for use in an approved vehicle.

Available in 3 seat widths, and designed for users who weigh up to 115kg or 18 stone, the Ergo 3 transit wheelchair is designed for optimum support and user comfort.

As with all Karma Ergo wheelchairs, this model has the advanced Ergo seating system which promotes good upper body posture and helps to reduce slouching and the discomfort. The seat back includes adjustable inserts which provide support directly to the lumbar region of the lower back.

To make adjustment of the wheelchair easier, all the moving and adjustable parts are colour coded in orange. This makes it obvious to user and carer alike where adjustment can be made for comfort and safety.

The attendant brakes to the rear of the chair have orange levers, when squeezed these slow and stop the wheelchair and when pushed down they lock the brakes avoiding the need to bend over and use the parking brakes.

The arm rests on the Ergo 3 transit wheelchair can be flipped up to allow transfer on and off the wheelchair from either side. The foot plates also flip up so the user can stand at the front of the wheelchair without obstacle. The footrests swing out and can be removed entirely when it is time to store or transport the wheelchair.

On either side of the wheelchair seat there are side guards which are there to protect the moving wheels. Each side guard contains a small pocket which is useful for storing small personal items.

The back rest is half folding which means that less space is needed when it is time to store or transport the chair. At just 12.5kgs in weight it can be lifted with ease and placed in the car or on the train. At the rear of the wheelchair there are stepper tubes which can be used to raise the front of the chair to mount a kerb stone.

The double cross braced frame is sturdy and allows easy folding when needed. The frame is available in either pearl silver or rose red.

When adjusted to suit the user this wheelchair offers very high levels of comfort throughout the day.
